AYF Anniversary Postponed to 2021 – or 2022 …?
Dear JYF and AYF Alumni!
The City of Freiburg has announced that all larger events and public meetings will be cancelled through August 2020 due to public health concerns. However, many events are to be postponed rather than cancelled permanently. This will most likely prolong the celebration into the summer of 2021.
The central Festival Weekend with Freiburg’s partner cities that is key to our AYF Anniversary Celebration plans as well is tentatively slated to become the city anniversary year’s closing event in July 2021. Given the announced restrictions, AYF will now follow suit and postpone our own AYF Anniversary and Reunion as well.
Provided we can reopen by then and have students in town next July, we hope to celebrate in July 2021. Should that not be possible, we may need to look toward 2022 for a relaunch of our Anniversary and Reunion.
Once details for are finalized for a new timeline of the anniversary events, we will regroup and rebuild our AYF 60th Anniversary Celebration Program.
